Senior Implementation Consultant — Project Controls SaaS

Location: Toronto Canada (hybrid) ·

Hours: Covers US/Canada Eastern business hours ·

Salary: CAD150,000 + bonus pool

Permanent Full Time

About UniPhi

UniPhi is project controls and commercial management software used by the people who deliver major infrastructure, construction and capital works programs. Our goal is simple and unfashionable: build business software people actually want to use.

We've been doing it for 26 years. Average tenure across that time is eight years, and we still have people here after 22 and 26 years — in an industry where two years is considered loyal. That's the number we're proudest of.

The role

You'll own the client relationship from the moment the contract is signed. Kick-off workshop, configuration design, roll-out, go-live, and the ongoing health of the account after it. You'll sit in our support team and report directly to the COO.

This is a hands-on role, not an oversight role. You will be in the system configuring it, not writing a brief for someone else to configure it.

Because a growing part of our client base sits on the east coast of the US and Canada, this role carries responsibility for supporting those clients during their business hours. We're upfront about that: it means a shifted working day, and we'll shape the arrangement with the right person rather than pretend the time zones don't exist.

What you'll do

Own the client relationship

  • Act as the primary point of contact for post-sales support and ongoing account oversight

  • Run kick-off workshops that establish the scope of a new deployment

  • Host configuration reviews and post-live support sessions

  • Handle client-escalated queries and keep account health in front of you, not behind you

Design and build the configuration

  • Analyse client data and workflows to design a configuration plan following the kick-off workshop

  • Prepare and present a reverse brief that clarifies and confirms project scope

  • Lead process design and the hands-on implementation of a configured UniPhi deployment

  • Identify and scope new client requirements as variations

Work through the support team

  • Assign process design and data upload tasks to the support team

  • Resolve queries the support team escalates to you

  • Translate new features and functions into something clients can use

What you'll bring

  • Experience implementing or configuring enterprise software for clients — SaaS, project controls, ERP, PMIS or similar

  • Working knowledge of how projects are actually controlled: cost, schedule, contracts, documents, risk

  • The ability to run a room. Kick-off workshops with senior client stakeholders are where deployments are won or lost

  • Comfort being the person who both designs the solution and builds it

  • Clear written communication. Much of your client contact will be asynchronous and in writing

  • Willingness to work a shifted day to overlap with North American clients

Background in construction, infrastructure, engineering or professional services delivery is a strong advantage. So is having been on the client side of a software roll-out and knowing why they go wrong.

What we offer

  • CAD150,000 base Salary

  • A real bonus pool — 20% of earnings before interest and tax goes into a pool distributed to staff. Not discretionary, not a retention trick

  • Flexible working — people work when and where they need to in order to get the outcome

  • Workcation — work from other countries without burning annual leave

  • A flat structure — open plan, and anyone can challenge anyone on any topic, including the COO you'll report to

  • Long lunches, lawn bowls and other excuses to stop working

How to apply

Send a CV and a short note telling us about a software deployment you led — ideally one that didn't go to plan and what you did about it.

Applicants must have existing rights to work in Canada

About UniPhi

The UniPhi Group is a global organisation that provides SaaS portfolio and project management solutions.

The key difference with this software is that it engages with all members of a project in a collaboration perspective while providing the control elements (budget and schedule) required for robust governance). This range of functionality is presented through a cloud-based architecture that allows anywhere access, freeing up staff to work wherever they're most productive. UniPhi has solutions for businesses of all sizes and includes project collaboration, document management, issues management, financial management, contract management, resource management, risk management, time management, and integrated reporting.

We currently have an emerging AI platform that is being driven by the volumes of data we capture across our user base on major infrastructure projects. Our goal is to identify correlations between multi-dimensional data sets such as issues (with associated commentary), project schedule, cost, effort, risks and in-field surveillances. This is an exciting project that provides the freedom of a small team to make a real difference to an industry in dire need of productivity improvements.

Qualifications

  • Data Science, Analytics and Visualisation experience

  • Strong mathematics capability, demonstrated through formal education or other experience

  • Knowledge of current third party cloud services to assist in achieving the above

  • Strong problem-solving skills based on a first principles approach

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field unless you can prove otherwise that this is superfluous

What we offer
